Unfortunately my experience with SMT hasn’t been great. Dexters communication and business practices fall short of what you’d expect when engaging someone to create you a website. Firstly, I instructed Dexter to create me a site for my business and told him what I needed, what I liked about him was that he was local and the person who recommended him to me said I could meet him in person if need be. Mid way through the process Dexter moved to Mexico and was only available to speak to late in the afternoons and on occasional days. Secondly, when I received the website drafts on first glance they appeared to have good bones but needed so much working doing to them. There were duplicate sections, poorly written text areas, random photos carelessly placed and the whole thing was very much thrown together. I asked for the site to be changed, it wasn’t. Dexter eventually sent across a site very similar to the last still with poorly written sections, randomly placed photos & duplicate parts that simply did not flow. In September 2023 it expressed to Dexter I was unhappy and didn’t particularly want to continue so would quite like to draw a line under this, as I’d paid a 50% deposit and didn’t receive the desired outcome so wasn’t going to pay the remaining amount (as this was due upon completion and it was not complete). Dexter once again asked to jump on a call and I just didn’t have time to go round in circles in a process that was already one year in and with no desired outcome. Three months later, December 2023, Dexter sends me an email requesting payment and saying I was happy with the website so should pay. I explained I would not be paying any more money and he responded to say he would be turning off my landing page and I should find another web hosting company. I paid for this service and yet here we are, he’s cancelled the landing page. Completely awful business conduct and a shame he couldn’t just accept that two people can part ways in business if the other is not happy.
